Skipper David Norris won the Players’ Player of the Year award at last night’s End of Season Dinner at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall. The 30-year-old midfielder, who is Town's top scorer on 11, beat central defender Gareth McAuley by one vote.

On-loan midfielder Jimmy Bullard has won Town's Player of the Year award. The Hull City man, who joined the Blues in January, finished ahead of last year's winner Gareth McAuley in second and Connor Wickham in third.

Jimmy Bullard struck on his debut and skipper David Norris netted his eighth goal of the season as Town came from behind to win 2-1 at manager Paul Jewell’s former club Derby County. Alberto Bueno put the Rams in front before Bullard volleyed home a spectacular equaliser prior to the break, Norris grabbing the winner in the second half.

Paul Jewell is hoping to repeat his 2006 Carling Cup semi-final triumph over Arsenal with Wigan when Town take on the Gunners at the Emirates at the same stage of the competition this evening (BBC2 and BBC HD, 7.30pm). The Blues go into the game a goal up from the first leg, Tamás Priskin’s second half strike having seen them to a 1-0 victory at Portman Road a fortnight ago.

Town’s U18s crashed out of the FA Youth Cup at the third round stage as Peterborough United ran out 3-2 winners at a freezing cold Portman Road. The young Blues were two behind before Cormac Burke (pictured) pulled a goal back but conceded again before schoolboy Jack Marriott added a second five minutes from the end.

Two second half goals from Kris Commons saw Derby County to a 2-0 victory over the Blues, their first win at Portman Road in seven years. Town had been the stronger side for much of the first half but gradually lost their way with the visitors taking control and securing the win via Commons’s eighth and ninth goals of the season.

Town duo Liam Trotter and Connor Wickham were both involved in victories on Tuesday evening. Trotter’s loan club Millwall defeated Huddersfield 2-0 at the Den in their League One play-off second leg, while Wickham’s England U17 side beat the Czech Republic 3-1 in their first group game at the European U17 Championships.

Town recorded their 19th draw of the season, an all-time club record, as Doncaster left Portman Road after a 1-1. In what was largely a typical end of season game, Connor Wickham put the Blues in front in the second half with Dean Shiels equalising from a hotly disputed penalty 10 minutes from the end.
